Hello there!
I am currently in the midst of explaining in detail the story behind each of the songs in the Love Yourself albums.
However, to help you understand the overall picture, I have summarised Part 1 of my Love Yourself Albums Theory below.
The Overarching Theory
There is a puzzle hidden in the Love Yourself albums.
The 3 Love Yourself albums are intentionally structured to simultaneously tell us about BTS’s personal experiences of loving “Her”.
The stories of loving “Her” are revealed when you read the songs in the right order. Just like how putting pieces of a puzzle in the right order will reveal the full picture.
There are 3 groups of “Her”:
- Namjoon’s lover**;
- the members themselves; and
- ARMY;
told from the perspectives of Joon, Yoongi and Hobi (i.e. Trivia: Meaning the meeting or merging of 3 roads in Latin, and also, the implied invitation to have a guess as to who “Her” is).
**Note: I believe through the wordplays I’ve identified and the hints Namjoon left for us that this person is Jin. If you disagree, that is fine I’m not here to convince you Namjin is real. To be clear, my theory is simply based on the premise that Namjoon had/has a lover. The reason why I think it is Jin is because objectively, Namjoon’s description of his lover is consistent with Jin and all hint/signs I’ve observed point to Jin. If you disagree, you’re more than welcome to imagine who this person as whoever you want to believe in. This is why apart from my first two blog posts about Trivia Love, I always refer to Namjoon’s lover as simply “Namjoon’s lover”.
Their experiences of loving “Her” are told to us in a trilogy story format and are about the “Good” and “Bad” sides of loving “Her”.
By placing the trilingual prefixes in their album titles to guide us, (承 means “due to”: 轉 means “turn”; and 結 means “conclude”) and pairing exact opposite or contrasting ideas in a parallel structure (e.g Serendipity vs Singularity, DNA vs Fake Love etc), this structure allows us to subconsciously and intrinsically understand the story BTS is trying to tell us is even if we don’t understand Korean:
Due to “Her”, BTS experienced a lot of joy and happiness. However, the plot developed and things took a turn for the worse some time after meeting “Her”.
Because of “Her”, BTS experienced conflict, suffering and “Tears”. However, through their suffering, BTS learnt (or had an Epiphany!) that the “Answer” to overcoming the challenges of love is not about trying to change the other person, or trying to be the perfect person, but about accepting and simply being their true imperfect selves.
In conclusion, the “Answer” to being able to truly love “Her”, is that they must learn to “Love Myself” first.
However, as alluded to, the story does not end here and this only concludes Part 1 of the story in the Love Yourself albums.
I will explain how this works and how each of their songs reveal their stories in my posts.
You will need to read my blog in order from Oldest to Newest to see how everything is connected and to access the protected posts. I have protected certain posts because it contains sensitive information and I do not want a casual reader to read it without the full context.

Hello! I don’t know if I’m too late to get an answer now. But can you please elaborate about the namjin thing? I really really want to know your theory. I’m not disrespecting your theory of anything…I’m just so much curious. Please do give me a reply. Thank you in advance.
Hello! 🙂 I really enjoyed reading your theories on the LY album series. It’s very insightful and find it also comforting that some of the theories coincide with my thoughts on the albums also. I was wondering if you’ll be making interpretations on the MOTS 7 and BE albums? Especially BE because after exploring LY, I am somehow confused on how to connect the theories of “Her” to how BE is being promoted. I am curious of your thoughts on this. 🙂
Hi Riri, no unfortunately I will be stopping after The Love Yourself albums.
Personally, I don’t think BE has anything to do with the Love Yourself albums. It was an album written in response to the pandemic, and thus, has no real connection to “Her”. Disclaimer though, I have not analysed or considered BE in detail. I’ve only had a very surface read of it! 🙂
Im going to have to start again to find the answer. Lol
Thanx for doing this by the way.
